Hey, Newbie here. I need some advice on a board. I've been surfing for about a year. I usually rent 9's. I learned in Barbados and Rincon and now have been hitting Montauk and Rockaways. Still a novice though and prefer 2-4 foot waves.. I'm searching for a used long board but I'm not against buying a new one either. Any recommendations? I was looking online these: Linden Classic Longboard, Hank Warner Performance longboard, or Mctavish Fireball. http://www.easternlines.com/surf/surfboards/mctavish-9-1-fireball.html http://www.easternlines.com/surf/surfboards/performance-longboard-by-hank-warner.html http://www.easternlines.com/surf/surfboards/modern-9-0-longboard.html Thanks!
all those boards are way over priced . You can either buy from Matador or Brian Wynn they make some of the best logs in NJ or you can Talk to Mike Beck up at Natural shapes they can both set you up right . Also Maritime Surf in Long Beach NY has a bunch of Bings in stock now yo may pay a little more but you getting a far better board for your money
I agree, talk to some local shapers, they will be able to shape something to fit exactly what you want.
Always look on Craigslist as well. I've bought a few on there. Just know what you want so you don't waste your time. When you buy something used its almost like renting it. I have usually resold my boards for what I paid and have even made money on boards. Even if you get most of your money back its cheaper than renting.
