That's my shaper right there. We had a whole discussion on these things somewhat recently. Their actually pretty awesome. I don't got a need for one..... but they feel alot better than you'd expect in the water.

    Intriguing. Good post.

Every time, and I do mean every single steenking frigging time I transport my 9'6 or 10' to a destination, it's been damaged by the asshatlines. And, since I want my boarts as close to back-to-normal as possible, I pay $60-$100 to have ding meister Chris @ KCoast repair them to watertight status. Point being, $1,600 for one of these Popes may actually be an economical price to have a boart that doesn't sustain damages due to its length.

And, for those of us hack surfers who don't want to rent waterlogged, effed up logs at great wave surf destination spots, it could possibly be a pretty decent travel boart?

Noticed that GMac came over to Mavs from Portugal in that recent movie detailing his comeback from severe big wave surfing injuries. The night before Day One @ Mavs, GMac was patching & sanding his boart. Multiple ding locations, mostly along the rails of course. Thank you, asshatlines. No matter how experienced a surf trekker or how well the boarts are mummified, the asshatlines baggage monkeys take great delight in destroying our gear.
