NSR-First Beheading on 'Merican Soil

My older son, now 21, got held up at gun point at night last year in front of our house Three black guys in their early 20s on BMX bikes. He gave them the $70 bucks in his pocket, and they left. Needless to say, he was pretty shaken up and still will not talk about it. Called 911 and 6 cop cars, including a K9 unit and a detective, showed up. Never found the culprits.
Over the next couple days, I informed my neighbors. Several of them started talking tough about how that wouldn't happen to them; how they had a 45, 9mm, whatever, and that would settle matters. Stupid fools. Armchair heroes. When a gun is pointed at you, its barrel in contact with your forehead, your options are limited. Sort of made me think of some of the lyrics to Mr. Freedom by Clutch that I was just listening to:

Sorry to hear about your son. If I was in your situation I would have happily done the same thing as him. And for those who would want to carry all of the time? I'd rather not get into a gunfight over $70 ...

I don't think all gun owners are fools and I am well familiar with firearms myself. Personally I believe that the outlook of most U.S. citizens on firearms is driven primarily by film and television.

If you have a cage of monkeys at the zoo and you drop one knife in, yes, it's unfair to the other monkeys. But dropping 20 knives in will not assure peace through mutual deterrence. It assures a cage of monkey knife fights and a perpetual state of fear; the very opposite of peace.

I don't mean to take over the forum with a gun debate and for that I apologize, I will attempt to let this thread (which is but a mere rehash of previous debates) die or change, and perhaps people can talk about surfing or beer. I'm tired of living in this monkey cage but at least there are waves.

 

We went from talking about government transparency to arguing about fookin gun control. It's exactly what they want us to do.

 

I'll even take it one step further and state that I believe that many people's over-reactions to normal inconveniences and/or perceived slights nowadays are based on what they see in the movies and on TV.

One of the fools even asked me if my son could tell whether or not the handgun (pressed against his forehead) was loaded.

 

As for getting in a gunfight, loaded gun to my head means he had the drop. No gun will solve that. If someone wants my wallet, i'm tossing them my wallet, watch and car keys. I'm not drawing on anyone unless life is in danger, be that mine/loved ones/hell I'd even save you if I could. Innocent life should be protected, not monetary sums and belongings. Don't mistake me for a gunslinger that's down to sling rounds over valuables. Only to protect life and limb.

I try to avoid situations like that,i don't let anybody creep up on me and always looking out the back of my head.I know what happens when ur not paying attention.its cool ur son made it out ok.in Newark nj,the robberies out there are insane.u don't give up ur stuff they kill u,u still give up ur stuff they still kill u.i drove past plenty of blocks where u see some banger on a bicycle with a huge buldge on his waistline.its scary shyt.and now ur not even safe from the cops.u get pulled over for a seatbelt and shot 10 times for reaching for ur wallet.that's why I like keeping to myself and staying away from crowds.seems like the more people u roll with,the easier it is to get put in a bad situation

I was referring to how the democrats have single handily imprisoned the black/minority community. and the crazy thing is that minority communities don't have the foggiest clue that they did this to them due to all the handouts and gov't assistance that they've been given. there was a time when black households were conservative, 2 parents and on the move up. Some of the best graduates from medical schools and law schools were (not a huge number but growing) black. Affirmative action helped some, but overall robbed society of the producing the hungriest and most motivated individuals from their communities..... which would have continue to increase the number of like minded off spring.... Hey but whatever, just as long as democrats get their votes, right?

In the mid 70s I was doing some commerce at a local foosball parlor. Some brothers saw a couple [people give me wads o cash. I went outside to see another associate who just pulled up. All of a sudden this little black guy sticks something in my side and tells me to give him my cash. I was fugged up, so it took me a second to understand what was happening. The guy brings the 25 auto up where I could see it and tries to chamber a round. the barrel was still stuck out as he put it back to my side; bullet jammed. So I pull his hand away, pull his coat over his head and commenced to wail on him while telling my associate to shoot him. My guy shoots in the air, I try to pick the bro up to slam him on his head but couldn't get a grip, so I kick in in the nards, all the time yelling shoot HIM. The li'l guy dropped the gun and his bud picked it up and unjammed it. I grab the guy I was tussling with by the pits, pick him up and started slamming him against the guy with the guy. Then I ran serpentine across the parking lot hearing a lot of gun fire. After I dove behind a car, I saw a bunch of my customers, who were in the parlor saw what was going on, came out and was lined like a firing squad shooting shot guns and loud sounding apparatus'. God must have big plans for me I reckon.
