I wanna take a small trip for a few days in the Spring with some buddies. It's between OBX, and New England. Those are the two main spots I have never surfed on the East Coast of the US. Haven't surfed Georgia or anywhere in the Carolinas. Only been to Myrtle Beach once, and it was this past summer. I didn't even bring a board, but it was flat anyway. Never even been to the Outer Banks, but have been told it isn't the best place as it's isolated from things. Off season especially. Never surfed New England either.

I want some non biased opinions of what has the best qualities? Whether it's swell size, consistency, or overall quality. I have heard both of these regions heralded as the best spots in the Atlantic United States. Don't know best as far as what. I am really looking forward to going to one of these regions. Obviously the West Coast, and Central America among many other regions are superior. I have been to those spots already though. Leaning towards the Outer Banks. Obviously it's gonna warm up first there than New England. I am not worried about it though. The less rubber the better, but if I am gonna get better quality, and more consistency, and be able to stay in the water all day I will take New England. Thanks in advance. By the way I gotta say observing posts of advice for other peoples questions on here has helped me a lot in my own travels.

go to buxton, most consistent spot by far, plus way warmer and accessible and spread out.
new england is more of a search explore thing, freezing and rocky.
hatteras is sandy warm consistent and easy to just go and surf.

If you hit it right, the point breaks in new england offer the best surf on the east coast. the major cons are it will be cold and it's hit or miss.

For consistency I'd go to OBX. Also, might as well strike GA from the list. It really sucks there.
