Yeah, Spicoli's at the Bay for the day. He needs to find a stick first so tell me where the proper shop is. Wasn't gonna give JetBlue fitty bones to haul my SoCal stick and dent it only to do the same a day later when I jump to SoFlo. Nothing epic this morning at OBSF but you chargers know better than I. Tell me where to go rent a stick. For those buoys in the know, do I charge OB or Fort or what? It's S winds straight through the day and neither soft nor very harsh so let a braddah know what break he should charge. Looking to hit it from 9AM-2PM PST if that helps for your nerdy calculations. Braddahs, to those of you who know wtf is up round these parts, and there's plenty of you, how bouts throwin a bone to Spicoli and giving some gems of insider info? Trust that I will paddle through whatever beach break gnar puts itself in my face and I'll give you a score report or a sore report nonetheless. No matter what, I'll be charging that shore hard. In this dark day of SI futility, let a fellow braddah rep you solid and go HAM on a legendary break that may very well work the schitt outta him but perhaps may throw him a shack or two. How bout it brahs? Eff this Orwellian oppression and let your braddah fly a banner for you on the Pacific today!!
I have no secret knowledge... but when I was there last year OB was wide open. You could surf just about anywhere but the best spot was at the north end of the beach right where the big parking lot is. Board rental from Aqua Surf Shop on Sloat at the south end, past Golden Gate Park. Saw whales there and a local guy said it was the first time he'd ever seen them. Pretty cool...
ive always wanted to go because you know how us east coast dudes love beach breaks now imagine a huge one, gl dude enjoy.
Go down to Lindamar beach in Pacifica. It will be protected from the wind. Across the street from the beach is sonlight surf shop, they are the best. Hang loose bro!
ob is on my list of spots to surf.id imagine if u surfed a big swell there, then u could handle anything the eastcoast throws at u.ob is the cold water Puerto Escondido, super super heavy, rips thatll pull u a mile out, great whites, cold water.sounds like fun lol. go find damo hobgood,im sure hes still out there.u tell him ur from the eastcoast and youll receive some good hospitality.damo is such a cool dude, and it would be a bonus getting to surf with him.
oh ya i surfed this place 100 years ago on a plank from a wrecked pirate ship.Shiver me timbers i was gettin 100 foot a-frames until a tiger shark called nemo took me left leg, but i got his right flipper so i figuer were even.so then sinbad came along and we went to a deserted island and played ali babba all night long.but when i found the treasure sinbad turned on me and the only thing that saved me from walking the plank was a giant minnow(about 69 feet long) that came and ate sinbad.i named the minnow charlie and we went under the sea and hung out in the octopusses garden.we went fishing and i caught a giant sea horse.i kept it for a pet and learned how to ride it pretty well.but then it got eaten by a tunabass and so i killed charlie and ate him raw.like sushi.then i went on a majic carpet ride to seattle and jammed with jimi hendrix.
Where did that homeless jersey murderer/hero dude rent his board from in one of his idiotic youtube videos he posted? Didn't he rent a bic and get pummeled at waist high fort point? Seems to me it was in Ocean Beach SF. Maybe you could find him and get some pointers. At the very least mount up the gopro when you paddle out at OB SF in the middle of winter. Could be epic and/or scarey as crap. Go get us some content!
lol I remember that dude.he hacked some would be killer up in cali, got a board and wetty from that late nght tv guy, paddled out and got worked, then ended up on the news for killing someone in jersey.wow lyfe on the road sounds good. floridas the new hotspot.come on down.anybody piss u off,u can kill them for free!!!texting in the movie theater?booom!!!playing loud music?boooom.little black kid walkin home?booom!!little caylee..dead...florida sounds really crappy
The Fort on a south wind, if there's enough swell...the crowd is another matter. Hanna is spot on, Rodeo's (aka Cronkite) is a dependable little beachbreak that has decent juice. Kinda wonky, but can be very fun. A local favorite. Sloat, VFW and the other main town breaks are very strong and wide open....but the paddle out, even at 4 foot, can be a real wake-up call. If you get a chance, visit Mollusk Surf Shop. They have some of the coolest boards in the world.
You aint lyin, some really bad sh*t happened down here lately, keeps the crowds down to a minimum I suppose (yeah right)
You may wanna check out linda mar beach if the swell is big. Can try Nor Cal surfshop at the south end, past the taco bell. Dont know many rental places. Ob is a serious place tho. Not a place to be reckoned with. If its big you will be really really far out. Have fun, its always bigger than it looks on the north coast.
In my humble experience... Fort Point... don't waste your time ...not that its not good but its not that epic of a point...not likely locs will let you catch anything anyways + 1 Cronkite +1 on Aqua for used boards don;t know if anyone said it but ...Pacifica is a nearby option if you are felling OB is too much... doesn't take much size to produce a long paddle or solid power. HPSB is standard but pretty quickly HH 1/2 conditions will call for a step up to make it worth the paddle out effort... a weird step up though a lot flatter of a board than you would normally think
yup...at least last time is was there... creepy indeed! Its a nice spot though...nothing too epic but worth a look coming from the North and not wanting to hit extra afternoon San Fran traffic.
