Yeah just like it says... WTF?!?! I was surfing this morning and felt like that was a vast amount of sand churned up in the watter and thought nothing more of it. Later I started to feel like I had gotten stung by a baby jelly... I get out of the watter to walk to the next beach down and started to really feel the burn/sting -____- So I go to look at my @$$ where the sting was coming from and found this little Fu(k#r on my hand after itching and it looked like a tiny jelly thing with eyes and legs!!! It freaked me out!!! Me and my buddy ran to the nearest showers and went crazy lol This sucks and now ive got stings all over my arse!!!!! so just in case your wondering how to prevent or fix http://www.ehow.com/how_2213447_get-rid-sea-lice.html Have fun today boys and get some!!

Ditto, not so much in the morning, but was definitely feeling the jellyfish sting in the afternoon.

No problems in the southern end of monmouth county yesterday afternoon. Those things suck, feels like I dodged a bullet.

I've heard the sea lice in the mid-atlantic are actually blue crab larvae, but that may be more for beaches closer to the chesapeake.

Yeah vb was horrible. I got what looked like fish line caught on my finger there had to be at least ten lice on it. So does wearing afull suit help? I know my top didnt help at all.

Yep, I had an allergic reaction to them last night. I'm allergic to bees which makes me more susceptible to the lice. Apparently the venom is similar. Had a fever all night. Gonna have to wear a full suit in August if I want to surf today...

i wore a short sleeve fullsuit in belmar last night to try and minimize the lice, but that strategy backfired. I was wave hungry so I surfed until dark and the lice were really irritating. They were floating all over the inside, I pulled into 2 closeout mush-barrels and my suit got filled with those fockers and they were just biting the hell out of me. I was scratching at my suit like ants in my pants. After the session I took a couple showers and its not bad any more

on another note, ive been surfing my usual break a couple miles away and there were zero lice... maybe its related to the guidos at djais

In my lobstering days this time of year there would be softball size clumps of them all up in where the buoy was tied to the buoy line, creepy lil' buggers...easier to deal with that than jellyfish tentacles to the eye though, at least in that context. We fished L.I. Sound though, never seen them in the water in RI.

Skanks aren’t the only way to get crabs in New Jersey.

we had them last night and today in LBI. they came out of nowhere, must've been from you guys up in monmouth with the NE wind. they are kind of a pain in the ass but i don't really feel the stings as much as everyone else seems to. my friend got them up his ass though and was pretty pissed haha. they don't give me any marks or anything, but last night i didn't feel too great and thought maybe it was because of the sea lice. all i know is that you should NOT wear any type of rashguard or wetsuit (maybe unless it's drylock). i remember getting them in my shirt a while back and it really sucked... they'll get in there and latch on to you.

If you pee on it, the sting will go away. Just be sure to take photos of the process.

Quite the opposite. The sea lice tend to get trapped by the stuff you were in the water thus extending their reign of terror. The only thing that effectively deals with them is a fresh water shower.

The only way to avoid sea lice stings is to surf naked, no kidding.
