Meant to do this like a year ago when discussing blades with Chavez. Let's talk steel. Post up what ya got. Just scored this for a new EDC and am pretty stocked on it...my current one is too bulky and not necessarily legal.

The pride of my collection, stock image but mine is just like it...Solingen steel.

I used to carry a knife in my truck... then a bar of wax melted on it and my tire pressure gauge... i threw them both in the trash.

Sheldonne, this is my woman's expertise. When she showed me her knife collection, I was blown away. I am not a knife collector, but I can appreciate good quality.

    For the SI glossary: stocked
Usage: knives "Just scored this for a new EDC and am pretty stocked on it."(It combines/conveys a level of excitement and weapon inventory levels).
Verses surfbort: "Just scored a new custom mini-simmons and I am stoked."

    Carry on.

Been stocked on the classic "Buck Hunter" my whole life. If you still have one made before about 1980, it's got 440 American steel. Now they use 420 (easy, boys... not that 420), which is still great, tough American steel, but not the original. 10051352.jpg

Van Man...I guess I should amend my statement...it's not in my possession yet, but on it's way. But the reviews were all solid to really good...and b/t the thinness, the handle, and the whole mini-tanto deal, and the fact that I love Kershaw, I feel it in me bones that I'm gonna love it. I will review upon delivery. I like yer blade dude.

CCCDog...man, your etymological input is second to none. F'n A braddah. I will add to glossary soon.

LBCrew...that was my first knife, given to me by my Pa. Now when I go home I'll have to check the type of steel. But man, I love that thing, and it holds a special place in my heart.

Tractor...one for the car, one for the pocket, and many for home. get on it dawg!

Nice, LB. I have two. One from 79' and one from late 80s. I did not know the 440 and the 420. Both still hold a blade and I use on the reg.

Looking at the Kershaw Launch 3 for a purchase. Anyone have one?

I'm partial to a pump action 12ga with three rounds of 00 buck. The sound alone of the pump action is enough to send someone out the way they came in!

As for blades... one in the drawer by the bed, one in the truck, and one in my office desk... old habits die hard.

LB after 10 years on/off on a lobster boat, I don't think I'll ever not have a knife on me. Old habits indeed.

I can't have one at my desk, too tempting to use it. Esp. on days like today.

JDudes! Didnt know you was into pocket knifes!

I don't really have any expensive luxuary knifes- I usually beat them up a bit. So I get cheaper ones...

Love the buck knifes- it was one of my first 'real' ones too.

Right now my everyday carry knife is the Kershaw Drone- which is sweet for the money- I haven't had to sharpen it yet. Plus it's got the 'spring assist' which is a must! Lol

Depending on what I'm doing I also like the Milwaukee Faskback- which is super cheap. But good to beat up. But it's hard to keep an edge on it, you gotta sharpen it every week. What ever it's made out of it super cheap- more of a throw away....

Here is one of my woman's knives, US Marine Corp issued KA-BAR. Not sure if it's WWII or Korean War.

    nice,looks like a Mossberg.

isn't it crazy how u get caught with an illegal blade, most of the time if the cops cool, theyll just take it and tell u to kick rocks.now get caught with a shotti in illegal position, thats a 5 year minimum, here in nj youll get 5 with an 85,meaning u have to serve 85% of 5 years before ur even eligible for parole, then when u do,ur on parole for another 5 years so its basically a 10 yr sentence.true story happened to my older brother.thats why I'm not down with the guns anymore,as I don't have a legal liscnese to possess one
