Haven't done my cloud backup yet, but let's get some new flavour out there. Let's have an aesthetically pleasing thread dedicated to the heartbreaking beauty we encounter everyday. Trees, rocks, birds, cricks, empty waves, whatevah.

I'll start off with this Sun Dog:

That's right next to the George Washington bridge (NJ in the background), a native prickly pear.

Great stuff Scarecrow! How did you stumble upon that frog? And the animal bonding displayed is great. I was unaware that anoles were as far north as NC.

See DP, I learned something here today.

When I worked in a retail garden center we sometimes would get those frogs in houseplant shipments from Florida. Kind of a bummer because what can you do with them once they get to New York?

I spotted the little guy while working in the garden. I used to try to grow a garden when I first moved down here, but now I've pretty much given up because you can't grow much in the sandy soil.

Don't you be eating those amanitas now.

You have to do a lot of soil improvement down here. We compost, and haul in horse sh1t for our garden every year. Plus crop rotation. This is still very small scale though; back yard stuff... I've got to figure out how to post some pics... Good on you so far that have.

A phenomena known as Glory. Similar to a Sun Dog, but different. Not shopped at all.
