Our wonderful guvna McCreepy (who worked for Duke Energy for 28 yrs) can hold hands with Haley and they can join up to rape both the Carolinas. There's already a fed investigation looking into his shenanigans gutting all our regulatory agencies so they can frak wherever they want and dump oil rigs off the coast. Plus the Duke Energy coal ash disaster that poisoned the Haw river and if there was tampering involved.

Of course the bastard was all over the news and in front of every camera he could find when the "epic winter storm" hit so he could talk about what great job he did. Try to get him in front of the camera to talk about any of the other stuff...not happening.

I wish we could load up dump trucks of coal ash and dump it on the Duke Energy execs and these scumbag politicians property. Same for the oil spills...In my world when that happens everything they owned would be coated in poisonous slime. Its safe and easy to get rid of and breaks down naturally right? Nothing to worry about right?

They're dumping this stuff without any environmental review just offshore of some of the most highly trafficked and most surfed coastline in the US, and it's not even on accident! Eff that. These are the same sets of platforms that have given the US it's 3rd largest oil spill (behind Exxon Valdez and BP Deepwater Horizon). Thanks, but no thanks to anything like that on the East Coast. If they're allowed to be built, we're going to be dealing with this kind of BS for the rest of their existence.

Why not develop wind and solar off of the East Coast for energy security? I've never heard of a wind or solar spill screwing anything up.

Oh take off, you hoser. I am for logic and reason, and it isn't logical to drill off shore of the east coast based on their record of failure. The politicians in this country have no issue focking the environment to make more money. It ain't no conspiracy. Their dirty dealings have been out in the open for all to see. The only time people care, is when it happens in their own back yard.

 

I would imagine the UK folks might have an issue with this too seeing how the gulf stream could push an oil spill to their shores as well.

this sounds like something that they put out so that you pay attention to it and not to what they actually plan to do. Like a liquid natural gas facility. Or a bill that will kill or reduce funding or incentives to renewable energy.

I will make a blasphemous comment and this is where the break my take place...

The United States rose to an industrial power due to the ease of access to energies such as oil and coal for instance. Refer to the location of many of our aging and shut down industrial centers. This aided in reducing production costs thus making US made products more attractive to the world market.

Perhaps we can bank on the rest of the world killing themselves again and coming to us for guns and other resources. The Gattling Gun was invented becasue Mr. Gattling's buddy stated to him, "if you want to get rich, make something for the Europeans to kill themselves with." It paid off not too long after that did it (The Great War)?

 

I'd bet that most of you heat your houses with oil or gas. That fuel that keeps you toasty has to come from somewhere.
