Been to Brazil 3 times. 2nd time i surfed pretty close to the city we were in and it was a little gross. Great waves and great people though.
surfing in someone's (everyone's) unflushed toilet...lovely. Medina's turds could literally be floating in the lineup.
Nasty! For those who like to read and live in tri state area. Check out " Heartbeats in the muck" by John Waldman. It gives you an idea of what the area was like and the way our water ways were and are sill treated by human indifference. Thanks to various organizations it has gotten slightly better than what it used to be.
