old guy dunks super grom

    I think this will make a fun discussion

    DRAMA AT THE CREEK!!
    So this evening I'm out catching a few before the sun sets when a barrage of Dana Point's finest officers heed the call of one angry mother in an attempt to extract a surfer out of the lineup..most of us out there thought we were bait for some creeping sharks but come to find out a grom got put in line from an elder..not sure who the guy was and as a parent I'd probably be chapped to learn my kid got hassled but as the story unfolds this kid has been in multiple confrontations with many well respected locals.. we had a cop boat in the lineup, cop helicopters flying overhead and a dozen more lining the waterline headed up by our misguided youth "London" scanning the lineup to get back at the elder that dunked him...(add up the manpower and fuel costs and I'm pretty sure we're into the tens of thousands of dollars range).. for what?..a mouthy kid got dunked? Told to "beat it"?? If I had a nickel for every time an elder mouthed that phrase to me at his age of have my own island!..it's about respect and learning your place in your quest to climb the hierarchical ladder.. nowadays I've mellowed quite a bit but im fired up at what out beaches have come to?? The pressure his parents have put on him and the direction this is going is ridiculous... i spoke to his mother and voiced my perspective that calling the cops was not a viable longterm solution and asked her to consider her son's involvement, but she was completely one sided as many over-protective parents are..and once upon a time I was a cool guy in the surf industry and from experience I'll tell you there is No Way I'd sponsor this kid.. in fact I'm pretty excited to watch the collective locals join together to snake him on every wave, every chance they get! I know his parents fork over good money for @iancairns to be his coach or wave blocker or something, but he's either doing a piss poor job or he needs to cut bait.. let the groms earn their stripes and respect the old fashioned way..kids are soft as hell these days with their participation trophies and entitlements...hey parents, it's ok for your kids to figure things out the hard way..when you fail faster, you learn more..and develop what's called "personality"..unfortunately I called around and heard this reputation had long followed him and his family..sad...there was already a hashtag started by someone

    His parents hired Ian Cairns as a coach? I always thought ian was a tough nut maybe they think Ian will help him out in other ways besides surfing.Ian will start calling him shoulderhopper i mean grasshopper

    God this pisses me off. Most grooms that rip are dlcks very rarely do you meet a humble decent person in one. So now if your a complete azz in the lineup, hassling everyone for every scrap, mouthing off to an older local guy and the local guy dunks you, your mommy calls the cops. And the friggin cops over react and call in the choppers rather than laugh at the mother and kid for calling over something that has been done to every normal kid 100 times in their lifetime. California is fkd up.
