Painters caps with those long flaps in the back to protect your neck from sun burn. Neon silicone nose guards Coiled up leashes Clamdiggers JimmyZ's Astrodeck - wait some of those old ideas actually worked enough to improve on them. There was a similar thread on the 2nd light forum recently. The old FL boys should remember these http://www.2ndlight.com/fusetalk/fo...=159872&STARTPAGE=1&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear
JAMS! Anyone recall those? I still use Zinka, I stick to the white or skin tone though. I'm not as cool as I was in the 80's. Oh, 3 and a half inch thick thrusters with channels on the bottom. So cool
webz were about as flash in the pan as it getz...photo also reminds me the hype ritchie collins used to get for going "past 12 o'clock"...wgas?
"piping hot" wetsuits and those effeminate neon polka dot traction pads astrodeck first came out with...hated those: daisy dukes+polka dots=yikes! even little kelly hates polka dots: used to drool over those rad schroff "high performance" blasters:
I have a gem to post once I get home and get a pic, but for now.... waterbaby wait till you see what I have at home....
My buddy's younger brother had a spotted neon board when he was 12 and he is still called Spot. He is 50 and bald and is still Spot. Once I had a pair of Jams, red with white hibiscus print, past the knees a bit. Paddled out at Pumphouse in the late 70s, and ripped them all the way from the back to the front doing some sort of off the lip and the stance got too wide and.....riiiiiip. I refused to go in the waves were too good, even though the whole package was on display. Good times. Now I have stretchies from Billbong, they are the best piece of surf gear since the removable fin. Great pics bros! Back to work.
Old OLD school... Birdwell Beach Britches (with the long "football" lace-up fronts), Zoggs original coconut scented wax, Pro-Line Skateboards (plastic decks), and later, the original Tracker Trucks and Simms German Racing Bearings!
