i didnt like the way my trac top felt today..just didnt feel right...does anyone have any experience with taking one off and putting a new one on the same board..i never had to do it so i wanted to make sure i knew what i was doing before i actually do it (p.s. today was the best day in the last 4 months
i dono, i heard you risk delaminating your board by doing that but i wanna do the same thing. I have a 5'11 and ive gotten taller than when i got it when i was 15 so i wanna push my traction pad back an inch or so to give me more room. So. long story short, i have the same question as you. i know that they're adjustable within 24 hours but after that there hard as hell to take off. Also if youve had it on for more than 24 hours, you cant just take it off and put it in a different spot of the board. it woodnt stick anymore.
It's a pain and will take you at least an hour to get all the glue off. Wax remover doesn't really work for the glue. It's probably not the best for the board, but I use acetone since it evaporates so quickly, i figure it will do the least damage. Don't get OAM pads, I've had 3 peel off.
One more thing, I'd heat it a little bit with a hair dryer before peeling it so it comes off in bigger sheets. Sometimes they stick so well that it breaks every inch you peel.
True...it is a PIA....just take your time and remove it....I just started to tear pieces off....Then I used goof-off to remove the glue. It came off pretty easily. Just work quickly after the pad is removed so you don't damage the board. x-trak for life.......
