apparently youve never played water polo before because if you had, you would know that its one of the hardest sports you can possibly play. playing in a wave pool would be near impossible considering you're fighting to not be drowned by your defender. water polo is a constant battle for position (especially playing in the hole)...they wear the helmets to protect your ears from having them ripped off in a struggle (much like rugby). ill hop in the pool with you and you can try to tread as i lay my 6'4" 210 lb. frame on you while kicking and punching you underwater, and the guys that play on the olympic team run much bigger than me (6'5" 230 range)...oh yeah and you cant use your arms to tread because i get to hold them down so you cant get the ball...then ill whip a shot at your ear so your ear drum explodes due to the sudden pressure put on your ear by the ball without that "sissy" helmet to cover your ears

Oh yeah, and phelps is mad quick.. he is crazy. He only had a 50 min break after breaking his own world record, then 5o mins later he won another gold. AMAZING.

haha i wasnt getting upset i was just sayin that water polo is a hell of a sport and explaining why they wear the caps...

but phelps is a freak of nature. anyone that can put up those times with that little rest and swim that many events in one meet is just rediculous. 1:42.9 is unreal....

    Definitely

They should definitely put bodyboarding on a flow rider in the Olympics. It would draw tens of thousands of more viewers to the sport? because everybody loves awesome aerials and they could open flow rider parks all across the country drawing much overdu attention to bodyboarding and make tons of money.

Surfing in the Olympics is just a stupid idea, for all the reasons already stated.

One of the main problems would be the wave situation. You would only have them in decent wave locations. And then on top of that, you might have to wait weeks or so before a swell came through to even start the prelims and by the time you got to the finals, the swell would be gone.

  9. summer olympics surfing

yeah would be coo, but not just a summer sport. Live in the pac nw and see what i mean, over 300 days per year head high, 4.3mm or a 5.43 a lot of the time. Just as much a winter sport as anything else.

But they could always watch the web cams and buoy reports and maybe move to the nearest coast with descent swells. Hell i know tons of broke ass surfers that arent sponsored that manage to do this on the drop of a dime, hungover, early in the morning, and still get barrelled.
