Alot of schools don't even allow them until very advanced levels. Wow, not even stoned yet...didn't mean to quote myself, meant to edit post.
Sketchy as hell!!! You ever seen a kneecap pop to the side when a guy lands one on an opponent? There's a reason those aren't allowed most times. Anywayz brah, this brown belt locked it up so quick on me that if I were to have tapped he still wouldve got further into his crank and I'd've never been the same after. In hindsight, somersaulting out of instinct was by far the best thing I could've done. Got me right out of the sub attempt and back to feet even though some damage was arty done. The somersault escape definitely mitigated the damage he was able to do.
Hahaha!!! Quoting yourself isn't near as bad as referring to self in 3rd person as some do here. It's valuable to train in order to identify if someone ever gets you in a HH, legal or not. While training the move, it shouldn't ever be locked up fully because you can just rip through an entire knee and tear the grand slam of connective tissues (ACL PCL MCL meniscus).
You're lucky you somersaulted the right way, I know some escapes if done wrong will basically finish the submission and blow out your leg.
Ya the victim was a burly guy with shaved head. Definitely a European. It was from a couple years ago and the whole place was in shock. I bet some cats sitting up in the obstructed view had a barf-o-Rama Stand By Me style after seeing the grotesque sight.
C'mon bruddah!!! Dis ain't ma firstest rowdayo!!! If you're rolling the wrong way you don't know what leverage is and need to train more.
Of course they're valuable to train, just minimal margin of error when it comes to the time of pressure being felt to tap time. I never felt comfortable w/ heel hook escapes. That's why it's always god to have a knife on you at all times though, plenty close enough to do damage even if your leg does get blown out.
Haha what a post!! Christ didn't tap because that would've negated his plan for world salvation. They had Latin back then but I'm not sure what "tap! Tap! Tap!" translates to. The Brazilians don't often believe in tapping. Having had shoulder dislocations from my primary sport, I'm prudent about tapping on any kimura, Americana, gogoplata, or omoplata. Arm bars I don't often find myself in and when I do I am explosive enough to rip my elbow towards me and get out.
Oh so true, with the whole true meaning why he didn't tap and all... which I agree, but my story fits more in line with an MMA discussion HAHA. Anyways, you are right all the way around on this one honestly. Tap or snap, or nap, or like big Timmie did once, crap...
He had his day in the sun though! Still riding out his fame. One of the best nicknames ever in UFC too and it's not like Vacationland is pumping out fighters like hotcakes.
Sure did, and what other fighter walks around with the belt around his waist in general public long after winning it? That guy....
DP, stop encouraging this fool. Emass, ride a longboard and keep learning. It's all about the glide no matter what size board your riding!
