Im your same height and weight, personally I would go with a 60 x 19 x 2 3/8 rubble but thats me.
    For you:
    1) It depends on what you want to ride the board in. You can probably surf a wide range of waves with the rubble. I wouldnt wanna surf the DD if it was bigger then shoulder where the rubble you could probably push to head+. Just me and my understanding of what the boards were shaped for.

    2) That being said i wouldnt wanna surf a rubble longer then 60. so if you dont feel comfortable with that then maybe a 510 DD is what you need at this point in your surfing progression.

there is some over lap in what the boards can surf, so it also depends in what you want to surf and what else you have in your quiver.

I have had both..I would get the rubble. IMO, it's just a more all around board. As far as Channel Islands...never had a problem with them other then normal wear.

Since I can't maintain a connection where I am right now, google this

    roberts vs channel islands surfboards

There should be a couple of swellinfo threads on this. Very helpful or discouraging depending on your take
