Disclaimer: Sorry about another non-surfing sports thread. But the majority of users on here are from or live in Delmarva... How about the Orioles clenching the AL East last night in their 8-2 win over the Jays.... First time since 1997. 13 games in first.... We could potentially enter the post season with over 100 wins and potential home field throughout.... I have held my breath all season long... Time to celebrate a little bit. No Machado. No Weiters. Davis out 8 games if we make it that far, although he has hit .189 this year, worst in franchise history.... But ill be damned if the O's havent been playing incredible baseball, top to bottom. Offense: Check. Defense: Check. Home Run hitters: Check... 3 Solid starters: Check... Best Bullpen in MLB: Check.... It's like I woke up in 1983 or something. And the Orioles are on top.... Great time for Bird fans. We have been beat up for years now. And our tiny little payroll and our farm programs are finally kicked into high gear.
Adam Jones pie-ing random fans was the best "we're going to the post-season" celebration i have ever seen.
this is nick markakis' reaction to the announcement that the O's had clinched. SO MANY FEELS!
you & my sister, man. she went to school in chestertown, md & became an O's fan while she was there. never had any interest in the game before that. went to a few games her freshman year (1995/1996 school year), & she's been a rabid fan ever since. amazing.
Not really a baseball fan. I did go to a philly's vs. Braves game one time and had excellent seats, That just made me dislike it even more! Hot as hell, beers outrageously priced (which I figured), a family of 400lb'rs sat behind me bumping my seat the whole time and the game was boring as crap!
A great season for the O's. My wife and I are Nats fans - have been since the team's move from Montreal. I do follow the O's some. Norfolk Tides are their 3A affiliate, and we've gone to a number of Tides games at Harbor Park over the years - more so when the team was affiliated with the Mets and my sons were younger and playing ball. But as for AL teams, the Rays are my favorite.
I was there. Yep, MAN it was crazy. Felt amazing and i'm the players couldn't contain themselves. I was sitting where Jones was pieing people but I unfortunately left before he started throwing em.
I'd be interested in that stat, I bet it's not true. More people use this site than you think. Micah what's the user by state %?
Baltimore native here. Go O's !!!! Fudgin surfed the shizer out of the ocean yesterday. YEWWWW. Go O's! (beers)
Depends on if you consider Jersey "Mid Atlantic".... They call them that in baseball. If that is the case, its for sure true. But I would say there are an equal amount of guys from Jersey as there are from a combined Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. There are really only a hand full of us from South of VA. I would say what, like 20 "active" users? I know there are thousands of accounts, most of which lie dormant. I just speak of general users.
Not even gonna read a tread bouts the non-sport of baseball. Basically came on here to reprimand you cats for keeping it going. Bunch of quidditch fans.
Haha, stop hating. That is what the "No Surf Related" thread category is for. How can you hate baseball? dang bro. Thats harsh.
Yeah, but who they gonna rep? The Delmarva Shorebirds? They are still the Baltimore Orioles single A. Just saying, growing up as a kid in OC, all I saw was Orioles logos in all the bars. Didn't see any phillies or yankees. The OC MD are all has Baltimore roots. That was why it was all developed. For the city folk to have a place to play. OC MD == Baltimore... Kind of. well, not really. but you know what I mean.
