Couldn't have written it better. I want the Royals but you have to appreciate this guy taking the rock for the third time in seven games. Legendary.
It was a great postseason, starting with the play-in games. Not that I watched much of any of it until later in this series, but it's good stuff. A bit anti-climatic to have the away team win on a pop-up, but we can't get greedy here. It was a Game 7. Had a feeling the Gi's were gonna take it when you kept seeing Sandoval rip hits and Bumgarner set em down. 3-0 in 7 games. What a trowback!
Good pitching trumps good hitting, always. It's a baseball cliche but most people don't understand it beyond face value. Because one good pitcher can handle an entire lineup of varying quality of hitters, whereas one good hitter has only one shot at the pitcher every 3 innings or so. Anyways, this entire season has been the poster child for nearly drug free baseball. And it also gives lie to the old saying when Bonds & AFraud & Sosa & McGwire were PEDs'ing, namely that you still have to be able to hit a pitched baseball, hardest thing to do in sports, and the lie being drugs don't help you do that. Well, obviously, at the MLB level the drugs for sure help you be a better hitter in many ways. Selig finally grew some balls (on his way out the door) and enforced the PEDs rules & the results are obvious. Look at this year's ERA's & the team BA's. Congrats Giants - - the new dynasty.
