I like how the surf forecast for Frisco next week is small as hell, but Buxton up north is head high predictions. Frisco always gets the shaft haha... Anyone hitting up the Island for International Surfing Day tomorrow?
Frisco is best in the fall. The entire southside gets a lot of swell from the southern lows (and tropical storms/hurricanes) and the wind switches and comes out of the North which is off-shore and the perfect recipe for some heavy barrels and far paddle outs. Some of the best waves I've ever been out in have been in (or near ) Frisco.
Well, Frisco faces south, so its not gonna pick up a NE windswell. However, Give it a nice southwest swell and north winds, and Frisco will be perfect, while Buxton is tiny and sideshore...
i was at Rodanthe from thurs-sat, fun Shoulder-Head high first day, shoulder high, the second day and waist-stomach saturday - glassy all day except the middle of the afternoon.
im glad you had fun all weekend leddy. now you get to come back to wb and surf crappy waves forever. i on the other hand went freeboarding most of this week and worked on my snaps and airs. now im a lean mean fighting machine (except for the knee).
nice...Frisco was just alright Saturday and Sunday. pulled off a couple decent rides, but otherwise practiced some dropknee bodyboarding...hopefully we get another tropical storm down that way this Summer - Cristobal made for some sick waves in Frisco last year. hope the weekend treated everyone well
