greetings, I am new to the sport period, am a fit 67 year old. I bought a new board and have been using it for about 2 months. Did I get a bad board, as ther are quite a few perfectly concentric circle dents on the bottom. Didnt inspect board when I bought it. I trusted shop and still do. Did I get a bad board or di I cause them and how. I am learning on reefs and it does get shallow at the end. Is it normal wear and tear. I mean these are perfect circles.Thanks. Loving the sport Jack
Jack, perfectly concentric circle dents are not usually caused by scraping over reefs...reef damage will usually result in gouges or linear scuffs or deep scratches. Most contentric dents are caused by banging the board off your heel, elbow or knee etc. If you've been wiping out and knocking against the board, that may be the cause If you trust the shop, they will tell you how the dents were caused. The good news is that dents usually dont affect the board that much if it is not taking on water, which the shop will be able to tell.
