That sounds awful, I'll try and avoid the cornhole, don't need that discomfort in my life!

Thanks Cdog, it really does surf as good as she looks, it handled some steep drops with ease, turns on a dime, I got on the nose, cheater 5, hit the gas and she took off, then back to the the driver seat and took it to the beach over and over.

Thanks Gaff, it's a 9 inch, I felt the flex on some waves today, great feel to it, similar to the FCS Dolphin but better. I go with one inch for every foot of board. It wasn't stiff or tracky at all, very loose but controlled actually. I have it pushed all the way up in the box, so that may be the trick.

OK..... time to get that GoPro out.

Glad your digging your new stick, brother.

That fin is really designed for driving and turning, as you've figured out pretty quickly. Once you really start to get into noseriding though, you'll want a different fin... if that's your thing. Something with much more tip area, that will hold when you're perched out over a steep wave face. And you'll want to pull the side fins out, too. They create too much lift in the tail.

HaHa, don't know bout the GoPro but I appreciate the tips on the fin, yeah nose riding to me is cool but not necessarily my thing, I do it usually to keep the ride alive and get to the reform and then back to the tail where I do my turning and cut backs, did lots of off the lips this morning, one of my best sessions on a longer board I've had, such a sick job Greg did on this board

COOL THREAD. I love Orions, and am not surprised at all that Greg made you a board that can take a nice drop and still glide and do all the tricks a longboard should. Good choice on the paint style. My daughter won a dark green Mindless ( Eddie Suxburry shape - a good C. Fla shaper! ) in a surf contest long ago, and she still lets me ride it. It gets too hot to carry, and delams from the heat. Always go white or light tint down here.

Try the Ames Squirrel for a more forgiving fin shape. Lots of flex and not as dangerous.

Thanks SiSurfdog, I looked at that fin as well, but ended up going with the 4-A for the performance. I'll just take my chances for now but if I take too many cuts I'll look at the squirrel for sure. It's crazy how much a fin can change the whole feel of a board, I'm a big fan so far. Looks like offshores in the morning, should be fun at the right spot.
