Impossible to fathom what is your point / joke. DEA being superfluous? Sure. As is any other govt agency, depending upon your parameters for your critique. Hey guys, take it back just a little notch. Yank, I kind of agree with your assessment. However: the big problem arises when an agent in a highly sensitive position compromises himself (it doesn't matter whether he committed it knowingly or unknowingly) and now becomes fodder for the Cartel. The Cartel will ask a compromised agent to do things he wouldn't normally do...and if he doesn't, the Cartel has him by the balls. Career, family, finances, LIFE. Everything, amigo. And, who do you think is going to be the first person snitched on when a bad guy gets pinched? Yup, you guessed it. Bad guys don't normally snitch, but they will snitch on a cop without blinking. And to top it off, they use it as leverage: give up a cop, have your sentence reduced or dismissed. Cops need a break just like everybody else, but these guys crossed a HUGE line. And I have at least 100 "Dirty Cop" stories.
