I have a guy willing to sell me a thruster set of fcs fg-3 fiberglass fins for 30 bills, other sites have em new for 64$, i ride a 6'4 ezera ez-2 19"width.. are these worth repaceing my standard m-5 fins? if i did get them would i actually notice a difference or no?

i think you would notice a difference...there's quite a bit of difference in the size between the m 5's and 3's. Unless you wanna loosen up your board and are looking for a different feeling i wouldnt get them. Also it depends on your weight and all.

The M-3 and M-5 are the exact same fin template so there is no difference in performance. The M-3 is suited for surfers between 90-140lbs and the M-5 for 130-180lbs. If your looking for some more performance step up and get the PC-5 or FG-5. If you need to school yourself more on different fin templates and performance characteristics go to

The different materials that fins are made out of, I think make a subtle difference, but a difference at that. For example, I went from the standard plastic Future 437's to the Future Vector II Black tips and I noticed a difference in the amount of drive and the speed the fins help hold through big turns. The have a real nice flex pattern. I reallly like them.

I have the FG-5's in my small wave board and reallly like them too. Although I have never used anything less in that board so i dont have anything to compare it to.

All in all I really like the upper end glass fins and probably wont surf anything else.

you've asked the same question over and over.... just buy the damn fins and let us know the difference.... you are only talking about 30 bux, not a mortage payment.
