just found out avianca has flights from lima to trujillo for ninety bucks no charge for surfboards. kicking myself for only bringing a board sock
Just go for the flight, and tell the handlers in Spanish to "treat it like an egg". Spanish translation: "chupas mis huevos y no babas." Just tell 'em that and you'll be good to go. j/k, don't tell them that
**** it night bus is thirty and nine hours of peruvian highway travel through the night is sure to put hair on the chest. plus avianca is a cluster company ill take nine hours of sleeping versus four running aroiund changing gatez at the airport
Them and Ladeco of Chile. Also Aerovias Quisqueyana of the Dominican Republic. defunct. And last but never least Caribair from PR. defunct. "Stewardess, how long will it take for us to get there??" "I don't know--we have never made it!"
when i flew cusco at two pm on a wednesday to lima there was a line out the door of people four avianca booths and only one person working. two others standing behind the booths with a blank look and a closed sign. we got there three hours before our flight and almost missed it because of them. apparently half the plane did because it was a sold out plane with half the seats empty. they also changed the gate four times in twenty minutes and none of the employees knew which one was real. pure luck i made that flight. no idea how my checked bags did
everythings all flooded out down here. the river just flooded out the panamerican highway IN LIMA crazy stuff. this should be interesting! glad i gotta wetsuite and surfboard if i need to mad max some river crossings or save an incan princess
Yes it's true that it's doesn't get that big regularly With my minimal knowledge- if it's 12 ft everywhere else it will be half the size at chicama- which is perfect... You'll be hard pressed to get any better... Plus the wave is so perfect- the perfection will make up for the size

well holy crap bouyz just woke up from a peaceful slumber on the night bus at dawn to a complete traffic jam in the midst of a river that used to be panamerican highway north from lima to trujillo. no joke all four lanea are washed out, trucks buses etc are mired in the mud water and people are getting out of there vehicles and meandering around the knee deep water. some mad max ****. but hey whats a good third world surf trip without a solid natural disaster and probable social disheavel? im watching it all from the comfort of my second story bus window complete with ac, wifi, and 160 degree reclining chair. all i can say is im glad i brought a butt ton of food and water with me just in case. the desert sure is purty at dawn. seriously though i havent seen washouts like this since i responded to the oso mudslide in washington that took out that whole town. i must use my fire survival skills and bask in the radient glow of thc and moderate use of alcohol to get out of this one methinks. in other news itsa deluging in trujillo and chicama (where im headed) and anyone thats been there knows even a little rain is rare. its rained so much that the bridge to chicama has washed out and the only acces is by four wheeler. looks like im finding a hearty local and strappin my **** to the back of his atv to hopefully score the least crowded chicama line up in a long time. things just got interesting espero para buen suerte.
