I know many of us, including myself, care about the environment and animals, but what's Your opinion on peta. Do you like them, do you hate them, are you in the middle and why. Just in case, I'm not trying to start an argument I just want to hear opinions.

I like PETA. We had a 14 year old lab we had to put down. we called PETA and they sent 2 young ladies to the house. One to examine the dog to see if it needed to die, and the other to kill it. They sat with the wife on the porch and gave My dog a sedative. they sat patting her and crying. When she was asleep, they took out clubs and beat her like a baby seal.
    For Free! I'm so thrifty.

I don't even know what PETA is...

I do know how to get some good barrels... Take a little road trip to Belmar Nj

You could fly your PETA banners next to the bench press on the beach, if you would like

I look at PETA the way I look at Pat Robertson. I don't take either of them seriously.

I think PETA in theory is a good organization, but yes, they seem to only appear in the most extreme fashions at completely inappropriate times.

I.E. Michael Vick. Dude is a scum bag, but when you get sentenced to PRISON, do your time, pay your debts to society, and then PITA shows up with their wacko tactics making a scene at places of business (NFL, Eagles Camp) and entertainment, that is the lasting impression they leave on people.

Probably good people, but misguided and come off as Islamic extremists.

Anytime your skeptical just look at the numbers. I like charity navigator myself and in my opinion, the more money the "non profit's" brings in, the higher the chance for corruption and shadiness. Peta doesn't score very well here, actually they're closer to pretty darn bad. I thought it was interesting to see that the VP makes 2x the amount as the Pres.

Yup, "overhead" and "operating costs" are a very sketchy situation. When I make a charitable contribution, I try and give it directly to someone or something in need. I don't need 95% of my donation going to "operating" costs. In the south, the churches play that game all too well.

It's all a scam. Our local Chamber of commerce director makes a quarter million a year and the organization basically drives no additional traffic to the area. It's a total scam.
