Some photos from yesterday 1-18-10 www.surferphotos.com 1-18-10 purchase prints www.grahamhunt.smugmug.com gsh5400@live.com
Some nice shots in there. What kind of camera and glass are you shooting with. I always am curious about what other photogs are using. I really need to upgrade my nikon D40. You must have something with some nice fps.
Thanks Sirus & Matt Johnson. I have a Canon 40d 6.5fps & the first part of the photos were shot with a 100-400 mm Lens & the others were shot with a 70-300mm.
couldn't have said it any better. I go on these photo forums on other websites and some of these people that just purchased literally thousands of dollars of photo equipment are posting some straight garbage. Surferphotos, deff not knocking your equipment tho. Deff a nice camera and I heard from other Canon users that 100-400 is a workhorse.
That lens is a workhorse but if you are looking to save some money & still get some quality zoom the 70-300 is very nice & you dont nec. need a tripod with it.
I agree when it comes to all photography. I have a relative who has like $5000 worth of equipment, not including his laptop and software. His photos look like they were taken with Fun Savers, its unfortunate.
I shoot Nikon and have, I believe, the equivalent Nikkor 70-300 to the Canon 70-300. One of my favorite lenses in the bag and like you said has nice quality and zoom for the price. Next swell we get here at Folly I'm probably going to rent a nice piece of glass just to see the difference. Heard its a huge difference. Maybe going to rent a 300 f2.8 or 400 f2.8
I use a Canon 70-300 lens for surf photos. It's great, enough zoom the get the job done and a short enough focal length to not need a tripod. I love it.
