Money isn't an issue. I am 6' 4" 165 llbs. I am an okay surfer and a strong paddler. I surf mushy knee-waist at the most. Does anyone have a board they like, that they think would work for me? I currently have a 6 ft 8 quad that i love, and a 8 ft 6 longboard i like. But i want to see what ya'll think would work for me. Because i really don't know.

I am very athletic and run a lot, so it's hard for me to gain weight. Good genetics

    Hey try some HIV meds.

DHD Double Shot, DHD Skeleton Key

Surfed the Skeleton Key in waist high and up and it does fine. Double Shot in thigh/waist high to chest high. Its fishy but of all the fishy/shortboard boards out there, it most resembles a shortboard... if that makes sense.

There is a guy named Roy "The Gnome" Stuart on here. He sells boards for guys who money is not an issue.

The only one who will ever know is you moneyman, how about you go rent yourself a few boards and try surfing different breaks and different conditions and then make a decision based on types of beach breaks or reef breaks , conditions wind and swell direction and so on. I guess I think you need to surf more honestly. Oh and mushy 2 footers may not qualify as surfing unless its flat everywhere else .

3 is the perfect quiver. Get rid of the 8'6" mini log and get a real log 9'6" flat nose single fin 23" wide and 3.2" thick with a tail flip for real longboarding because those days are there and you want to ready. Then learn the cross step, it pulls chicks. Then a 6'6" x 19.25" squash tail thruster for OBX bowls (I assume you are in Swansboro, NC) and surftrips to Nica and PR. Then a 6' fish (2,3 or 4 fin boxes)- 21.25" x 2.75" and an 11" tailblock for AB or Topsail average days. Flat rocker on that one. Tall skinny dudes need glide because they get up slowly but paddle well. Glide = length, don't go to short. Takes a little longer to swing long legs and torso up into position. I know a guy who can help who is very reasonable and good. And take your old cues on trade. Happy holidays...

Yer so skinny, when you undress it's like the unveiling of a golf club. I never had more than 1 ridable board(i spent most my $s feeding my face) at a time until I bought a nerf board a couple years ago. It went flat soon after. let THAT be a lesson to you.

Well I still don't believe you about the teacher story...

My advice is to get a sup if that's the size wave your surfing. You can take it out on flat days and paddle for excercise and balance and once in awhile when no one is out surf the ankle waves that no one else can. Then with your new found fitness you can start working your wave size up and only then will you know what boards you like.

It should be noted that I have no idea who Roy is other than a dude with some fins posted up on here, but I see folks bustin on him all the time and I love a good pack mentality unjustified ball bustin, Lord of the Flies style aggression, etc.

Finally got to surf the last few days on new boards. I got the double shot and the skeleton key. I love them both. The skeleton key is fast and responsive and the double shot, I really had fun with on shore break. Great recommendation. Thanks two barrels
