A buddy invited me to a Fantasy Surfer League with some guys out in CA. $50 pool and winner gets a custom (one of the guys is connected). Im a research analyst by day so I had my spreadsheets and crystal ball working for me. They didn't like that a dude from Baltimore ran away with it.

    Im a nice guy ... i think.

They don't totally rip off the design, just use it as a template for my customs. You can copy dimensions and volume but its still essence's interpretation and applied knowledge of my skills and wants that makes it. One of their shaping students made me a "copy" of the hypto krypto and its one of best boards I've ridden. Im 5-9 and 7-8's, currently 172 lbs and the weirdo copy with regular squash is a 5-8, 19.5, 2.5 with 31 liters and its super fast and responsive. Of course id love the real thing, but money is tight and my local shaper is really good.

Lost boards suck. You would be better off buying an NSP. As for the other brand.....they suck as well. Order a ...lost, sell it, and get a decent board.

Thanks Seldom....Yahoo!...and it's quitting time on Friday too? whaaaaa?!

Down to either a V3 rocket or a similar SB. Found out that the glasser is same for my pyzel/lost so going with a lost bc of the amount of R&D and reviews. Weird when I look at different sites the volume changes although the dims dont.

I've had ...Losts that i really liked (Round Nose Fish) and ones i didnt like that much (Shark, Bottom Feeder). Never had a Pyzel but surf with some guys who like theirs.

My guess is like most brands, Lost and Pyzel are perfectly capable of making you a board you will love or one that you will hate. I would be super stoked to be in your shoes. A guy I surf with a lot has one of these and swears by it in small surf. Absolutely works over 2 foot slop on it.

I'm riding Lost and they don't suck...only thing that sucks is the glassing is weak. People that think Lost sucks are usually either not very good surfers and/or people that got the wrong size (most likely) or shape for the waves they ride. Staying within your Guild Factor range is essential.

I don't like the "rocket" tail. It's a gimmicky design that rides just like a round tail (which I don't like unless waves are bigger, powerful and bowling). I'd go for the V3 squash-it, instead.

Something tells me these guys would disagree, and I guarantee they surf better and know more about boards than you. :)

    NSP? Hahaha...

I agree with waterboy on the v3 rocket tail. Prefer a squash too, but love the overall dims of the v3 rocket

It is just my opinion of them based on glassing job, which I opine to suck.
    If others like 'em--buy one!!
    Not me...

Round up? Isn't that a step up or close to a mini gun. Are they making you a custom with that overall outline? Dims please.

Agreed. Owned a ...Lost and it got weird superficial glass fractures. Killed the resale on it, which matters for me because boards don't usually have too long of a shelf life in my quiv.

    Dims or it didn't happen.
