Jesus, I tend to think that most of the homecats on this website would be afeared to even get to Camden's secret surf spots. I don't see many of them traversing the neighborhoods to get to the coast. It takes an el burro mas macho type of dude to surf Camden. You know some of youse probably think this is a joke, but swell does travel up the Delaware River. And when the sand and bottom debris is just right.......WOW. Actually, Pyne Poynt Park was small but reeling this past Saturday(1-2 foot). Good place to catch a summer swell. They have big parties/celebrations with a Latino flair in the park on summer weekends. Plus, the exit street out of the park is 6th St. and 6th St is where it's at.
Well then, it official. The first annual Swell Info. Surf/Booze/Bench-off Festival has been moved from Saturday July 6th at the 7th Street beach in Ocean City NJ to DEAL!
So I went back on what I'd said. I packed my wife, kid, and our beach stuff and plugged Deal NJ into the guide and away we went. After some "rerouting.... rerouting...." we got there. Deal is pretty nice. Nice beach town. Waves were waist to chest, with a couple of people out. I parked the car, took the board off the roof while the wife got the kiddo sun-tan-lotioned-up, and all the sudden I see this kid, but he looks super ripped. He must have only been 12-14 years old, not real old at all, but he's just super jacked. He comes right up to me, super agro, and says - "Nice license plate, bro." The next thing I know, I'm waking up to smelling salts in the hospital. The nurse tells me right when I woke up - "Its ok - your wife and son are just fine." Then, a copper comes in and starts asking me to describe the incident. I tell him all about the kid, and the limited interaction we had, and the cop says... "ahh.... You, your wife, and your son ran into..... NJgromShredMachine. Its lucky his dad is in Tavarua wrestling sharks and surfing unridden slabs."
None of those links work, except one about some patent that doesn't explain anything. From the comments, though, I'll guess it was tinfoil hat stuff.
That was F'ing great, man. The photos locked it down. Ahh, thanks for the laugh. " Nice license plates, bro." Good stuff.
