the real Hawaiians that are not surfing in the contests stay very far from the chaotic scene.i would too if I lived there.because the Australians, floridians, and cali guys are in town is supposed to make it special?my one buddy posted pics at the ice cream shop lol, dude the wqs is in town!!!
I called my li'l buddy in OBX with a heads up. He moved here from Hawaii in the 70's. I said the Honolulu contest is on and he corrected me. He recognized it after all these years.
fair enough grom. I am a j.o. SOMETIMES. Im just a regular guy who has to work and tyring to surf a lot. nothing to idolize here going to go out at otw I think, wish me luck
no it is not baddy, its a thruster but I have 9'0 that is 'too small' again a thruster and the 10'0 is a loaner (person is in jerz, or possibly trim camp and will be here in January). I need my own and when I get one I am thinking quad, but its whatever the CL gods decide as used is 500$ and a new bwg is like 1k
Pics pics and more pics if you go MIS. Maybe even get a few pics of the waves/surfing, but not required.
I put some up last year of these models changing bikinis, lemme try and find it, but I will be at a wedding in Philadelphia this December missing 5 weeks of swell, but the season is like 20-25 weeks long, so its not **that bad** but......
just wondering - about max-speed - my quad can kick-in to OVERDRIVE in this my piddly (well, gonzo was pretty damn good...as was the summer..bit i digress) new jersey surf; just wondering what it was like in mackin nosho juice... also know it sounds douchey but i was there the day chesser passed; the hills over waimea were a jammed parking lot sob-fest. please becareful and pay attention always to the quality and thickness and length....of your leash. now go get 'em!!!!!
yea, I'm just testing the water, not trying to go crazy. when I try the quad I will let you know, I have talked to some guys and they swear by them
I'm not on the N shore of Oahu, but on the n shore of maui i've only ridden a quad so far....not a big wave board. Just the small fry 5'6. But it only felt to small the other day when it was a few feet over to double.
maui wowie! say hi to Laird; he and i are bro-ed up. no not really. one time at hookipa i saw him get cornered at the east end cliff by huge swells so he just climbed it w/one hand. with an entire sailboard rig in the other....
i used to surf noriegas alot. it was in my transplant new jersey friends front yard. but not anymore cause he passed (from hep from eating in the market in marrakesh).
