I guess I am a bit of a hypocrite when it comes to this topic since I own a cat and a dog. Although they both literally fell into my lap as animal rescues. My cat walked in my old house by the beach when he weighed like 3 lbs. He was starving and thirsty. I fed and took care of him for a few days. Put up signs and asked around if he belonged to anyone. So, no one ever claimed him and we have raised him ever since. I also have a black lab that was found down by dog beach in a box with 12 puppies in it. In the middle of long branch avenue with the mother standing next to the box. A localguy I know almost ran it over, then when he looked in it, he said there were 12 beautiful lab puppies in it. I was one of 12 people in my neighborhood that adopted one of them. Now we all meet at the beach with the other brothers and sisters. I mean, I feel like the fact that we take such good care of them, its ok. We take the dog practically everywhere. To the beach, to all the restaurants in the area. I take him to the freaking bank. I let him run and play as much as possible, so I dont really feel like my situation is anything like a zoo... I feel like what I am doing with my pets is the right thing and that they are much better off in my care than they would be in the city living as feral animals. They would have been hit by a car or killed within a day. .

Thats kool I have a Dog and a cat both me and my wife for by adopting them from a shelter. I feel the only thing that is different from a pet taken care of by its owner and a animal taken care of by a zoo keeper is that one on one attention that a pet and it owner has . Other than that I feel its no differnet
