Due to there not being as many sups in the lineup during the last few years: I voted for the wannabe rippers- or I would call them 'summer pros'. I wouldn't say I hate them but much like live4truth I find them very frustrating - specially when they paddle for a waves (sometimes Knowingly too deep )and never make it... Then paddle out and around and right past you.. Yup glad it's winter! Makes me want to paddle iout in 20 degrees knowing I will be alone

Not so much. I can usually get in a morning sesh before they start.
Actually, I get a kick out of watching them, even cheering sometimes when a kid catches a ride.

SUPs are easy to deal with--if one paddles by you, just grab the leash, yank hard, the sweeper will come crashing down on to the board, bewildered. Works every time!! But don't do it if it is a hot chick--it will not make you a new girlfriend.

hackers and snot blowers. Not the occasional ones, because we all do it from time to time, but the nasty arse habitual ones.

back when i used to live in nc and Atlantic Beach was my home break, back when Sportsmans pier and that other one were right next to one another. the fishermen on those piers would straight up cast at you, trying to hit you. F#ckin ridiculous! They were straight up trying to hurt surfers when you got too close to the pier. Then they tore all the piers down, so I guess everyone lost in the end...

Nowadays it's those damn longboarders who sit way out back and try to take every damn wave that rolls through.

SUPS are the worst, especially in the hands of someone decently capable. I don't mind the ones that can barely stand. I just stay far away and they're no bother. What I don't understand is the young/fit guys who are actually relatively decent on them. These are the ****s that are taking every.single.wave, doing what I assume they think is throwing buckets on radical cutbacks, but it really just looks weak as hell and like it's in super slow motion. Why not ride a real surfboard?

People that ride longboards when it's over, say, stomach/rib high are annoying also.

Tourists are annoying but I tend to avoid the tourist hot spots anyways.

thats when the huge hang tens and massive cheddar sprays become possible. if the logger chucks buckets harder than you, he's a better surfer

Longboards have their place. I don't really get why people ride standard thrusters on a knee high day, but people do. I use the word "ride" loosely because they don't do a whole lot of it.

Ripper wanna be's? Aren't we all "ripper wanna be's"? I mean, most of us aren't rippers, and we want to be rippers... So what does that make us/you?

I think it's referring to the cocky attitude not supported the surfing ability or something like that...

I'm not saying that if your a really good surfer you should have an attitude...

people who crowd the jetty and sit inside of me just because they are alpha males. And those same guys blow waves, fall, or their style straight up sucks. I am definitely happier knowing that you do that because you have bigger balls than I do and/or you are a better surfer.

That, compounded with you sitting there not even giving me a nod or a "hey" as you paddle by. Then, my friend, its on. I can probably paddle faster than you but I choose to not be that guy. Douches.

Being friendly in the lineup goes a very long way.

Canadians is my answer, hand down... they kind of fall under tourists, but at the same time they're a whole different animal
