is thehre anyway to fix pressure dings ?? i have an uncle mikes mj short board and its pretty awesome but it dings kinda easilyy and im wondering if theres anyway to fix them
preesure dings suck i ahte them. i try not to fix them if there is no delamination but if so i take it to my friends dad.
Depending on how big the ding is, i'll trace the bottom of a beer can (natty lite for best results) then cut that section out with a box cutter. I rip the foam out. Then i fill that in with rubber cement and then glass over it. But i'm usually just repairing skimboards.
its when the fiberglass comes off the foam. i don't knwo how it messes the board up, but it messes it up. my favorite surfboard was delamanated on the whole right side of the stringer. it sucks.
Hahaah^^^ beat me to it. It's when the fiberglass separates from the foam. If you can press down on one of your pressure dings and there is some play between the foam and fiberglass you have delam.
Yikes!! I don't think I'd try that on a surfboard. The other answers are correct, if it isn't cracked and taking in water or delaminated leave them alone. You will only make a cosmetic problem worse.
