Hey everyone, People were complaining about the missing - private messages link - and rightly so. That got overlooked, but I just added it. It is under the little message/notification icon at the top right. When you have new messages (or notifications) this will show up read. When you click on that icon, at the top right is a link to your private messages, and it will show how many unread messages you have. I think this is pretty good setup, but let me know if you have any issues. Thanks, and keep the bug reports and other issues coming...
Uploading photos and creating albums isn't working from my iPhone. There doesn't seem to be an option for editing my profile pic or avatar (since my profile pic is now squeezed and pixelated). My old album labeled Magic is still gone, and I'm guessing that's permenant since you won't acknowledge it, Micah. The surf crew thing; care to acknowledge that? Benefits ? For now I'll try my PC and see what happens. Thanks, Doug
As far as I can tell the surf crew tab is just a filter of sorts...no other functionality unless I'm missing something..
It's a problem here at SI, I think we should start a reading program here:
Doug, I'll get to look into it... hang tight. Surf Crew allows users to follow only the users they want to follow (Surf Crew), or they can follow everyone (ALL), or they can see what is being posted in their local area or other local areas. It can also replace the forum, to have conversations on news links, status posts, and other media (surf reports, photos, videos). For the user, they can decide who they want to share stuff with, everyone, or only their surf crew(s). They can also choose their anonymity setting, whether they want to be viewed by their screen name, real name, or only show real name to users in their crew. There's lots of other features that have been added to this upgrade. Once I feel everything is solid and all bugs, and features have been smoothed out, I'll release some tutorials and news regarding all the features. One thing, to check out, if you haven't already, is the favorite forecasts feature at the top right of the page. You can save your favorite locations, and it will give you todays forecast for all these locations in that top menu.
with respect to the 'date arab women'....is that a target on their anus? is this an 'arabian woman' thing?
On PC everything seems more tweakable. I tried updating my profile photo and it said successful, but didn't actually update. I tried making a new album since the old one is mia, and posted a test photo in it, but the pic wound up on the main surf photos section (sorry about the Brooklyn photo guys/gals). The new album I made (magic2) disappears too. I also changed my birth year back to 1776, which was initially accepted, but when you check my profile it defaults my age to 45 (which it isn't).
It sounds like you are having issues using the site on your mobile device. There is a problem uploading images using iOS right now. I'll see if I can fix this... We will be releasing the Surf Crew iOS and Android apps soon, which will make traversing the Surf Crew features much easier.
Via PC: Okay, I was able to change my profile pic by using a lower res image. My new "magic2" album is there but the pics still post to the main surf photos section (at least this one has a little wave in it). Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I was also able to change my age to 113 which works for me, even if it's not as old as I wanted to be.
I'm having trouble finding the "Latest Posts" that was in the profile and I think it came up if you clicked a user's name. Did that get left off or is it hidden somewhere?
