    goes both ways chavez,
My old man is 78 and sits on the other side of a hill and texts or calls me every 5 freakin minutes or after every shot heard. "was that you?" . If I don't answer he post things on face book and my sister calls/ texts me to tell me what I'm doing and to check on dad. But I still pull a couple out for him every year. every year. last year i honestly said "dad hold on" shot one picked up the phone to tell him and the first thing he said was " was that you?". I still rather hunt with him than anyone else. He's my da.

remember when you used to just sit in the woods until you got one or heard a whistle? If the whistle was before noon or before dark it meant he got one. If it was at noon or dark it was time to eat.

Yes it does PeaJ. Dad is 73 now. We started using two way radios years ago (when in the mountains...no cell coverage). Every shot in the distance, he would get on there asking if it was me....it could be clear across the valley from us and he still ask. Some of my best memories are being in the woods with family. Sounds like you guys have same memories.

CyC your boy shot the doe with a bow....while in a two man stand? That sounds very cool. How old is he?

I hear you PJ. I actually felt a little bad about, being that I'm the one who got him the phone in the first place. He's the last one left in the house now so he gets the brunt of my bullsh!t. He's also more like me then the other two which scares me. He pulled that phone out because he KNEW I would explode. My pops is also 78 and still hunts. He won't go near a cell phone though which is surprising because he was a gear head his whole life. He was always into gadgets and sh!t.
Good luck this year in the woods dude, be safe.

11 years old. He is using a Bear Apprentice. Perfect bow for that age. He's a big 11 so he has good draw strength and he practices more than me. She was the biggest of 3 that came down into the power line from the field. The stand is set up where the power line and the cornfield meet a brush lot. It was getting dark and I saw no bucks behind the three so he took the shot at about 18 yards. She only ran about 20 yard, circled a bit and fell. He forgot about his phone he was super stoked. It's his second deer. His first was a fork-buck two years ago.
We do a ceremony for every kill thanking it for giving it's life was we can eat.

Yeah, I'm the youngest too. Only one of his kids that still goes. He don't know yet but you do. He'll remember this stuff fondly for the rest of his life. i find myself saying the same things about walking in the woods to my little boy that my dad still says to me. "when you step into the woods stop to let your eyes get used to it. sometimes they are standing right there and they'll let you walk right past." So your boy will be the one pulling your deer out when your old.
Good luck to you guys too. Be safe and get one.
