Watching round 1. Gotta say that is pretty much how my regular spot looked the last couple of weeks. Had to Sort through the mess and catch a lot of waves. Some of them didn't work out. Some were gems.

wish I had a jet ski assist. My shoulders are still sore.

Surprised (sort of) to see Reynolds go out. He was surfing with a lotta pop.

And, even though I had Parko on my team he seems about done. Not being critical; just an observation.

Those waves in France looked great today. Big diff from the massive closeouts of recent weeks. Final rounds could be great.
Leading into critical Portugal. And Pipe could be another nail biter this year, like it was in 2013 when Mick nailed down the crown there.

good contest, great waves. The claiming is annoying...begging for better scores than they deserve.

isn't it amazing how the atlantic screws us,we get decent waves, then it travels across the atlantic and it gets beyond epic over there compared to our coast.ever see the shorebreak there?id love to take frosty on a surf trip there, see if he can make it past the shorebreak lol.

I also saw the medina vs cj heat and was very disappointed how overscored they did medina.cj;s first wave was way better than his 8.7 or whatevea he got.

france, spain, portugal is definitely on the bucketlist, need to plan a trip there maybe next year.this year is nica

Not gonna lie but today looked a lot like satellite beach did the last week or so...Except Florida was more consistent and slightly bigger. And better offshore winds actually.

yea florida looked great,it just sucked in nj.we literally had a solidswell for like2 weeks going on 3,but with heavy onshores and non surfable conditions, just death on a stick out there.however further north in ny,it has been barreling there every single day epic conditions for 2 weeks straight.i really regret not taking a trip to rockaway.i couldn't even imagine surfing perfect barreling waves at home for 2 weeks straight.id probably have to enter rehab after that

Right!??! Sucks dealing with all that weather and not getting the goods the next day. At least we had a few days at the end, after the storm passed, that were good to very good. But yea... two solid weeks of VAS sucks.

    It's Medina.

Guy boosted some impressive airs in this contest.

    And on to Portugal.

I actually think medina's surfing is relatively sloppy compared to the aussies. Don't really like watching him surf. The style just isn't quite there...but those airs are undeniable.

i think most of the brazzos have horrible style. Toledo has great potential if he can tighten things up and add other maneuvers to his airs (on the same wave).

But doing airs is NOT surfing. Being ON the wave is surfing. He is "airing"...like farting, no more.

How do you think big airs are set up?? By ramping up massive speed 'on the wave.'

    You moron.

STFU barry, just this one time you fossil

You know not of what you speaketh.
    You didn't watch the competition.
You don't have a clue as to how the WSL is scored.
You may possibly think that sliding down a wave on a longboard, immobile, is the winning ticket.
    Just.....STFU you ignana goof.
