alright, so I'm planning on getting these two products. Has anyone had experience with them? This will be for late winter/early spring this year 5/4/3 hyperflex hooded amp http://www.pleasuresports.com/hyperflex-amp-5-4-3-aerodome.html 5mm amp gloves http://www.wetsuitwearhouse.com/page/WW/wetsuit-gloves/XG53N
I have a 5/4/3 flow which is an excellent suit. I would assume the Amp is at very least as good, most likely better. I have Amp booties 5mm, NO GOOD. They suck. Hyperflex Access gloves, also garbage, but inexpensive.
5/4/3 amp The 5/4/3 amp is a great suit, especially for the price. I got mine in the fall and its holding up really good, had a nice session today and didn't feel the cold till i was gettin changed at my car. Definately a good buy imo.
Idk how interested you are in just hyperflex but if you go to www.liquidboardshop.com depending on your size there are 5/4 mutants for 199 and Xcel Drylock 5/4's for 325. Don't mean to keep dropping in on these posts but just thought i offer.
im not all in hyperflex, i've pretty much already decided on the suit but maybe not gloves. and they didnt have anything my size on liquidboardshop
Talk to Dow You better call Dow at wetsuitworld in stone harbor. He mentioned a problem with entrance to the amp. They talked me into a Flow, cheaper and great suit. The gloves stink. get o'neill 5mm mitts. I have 7mm rip curl boots, but my feet were cold after only 2 1/2 hrs today.
im a medium, but im looking for 5/4, preferably hooded. im pretty much decided on the AMP, its just gloves im not too sure about
the 5/4/3 flow is a great suit very warm and for the money you are getting a great quality suit. I have had almost every brand of gloves . I just got 5 mil drylocks and I am sold on them the drylock tecnology is the best stuff out there
I have the amp and love it. Great suit now in it's 2nd season of hard use (like every swell for 2 winters 3 hours a pop hard use). I did develope a couple of tiny seperations in the front armpit area, nothing major though and easily fixed. Was out today and was dry as a bone. Agree about the gloves and boots = crap. just got some brand new f-bomb 7mm booties off of ebay and I can't believe what a difference that made. No more white numb toes for 2 days after a surf for me!
Amp 5/4/3 I have the 5/4/3 AMP (New this winter) been out with it three times so far and it rocks. Got shacked good a couple of times today and no flushing at all, just a little water around the ears. The cords they use could be heavier. 5 mil dry-lock gloves kick a$$, 7 mil hotline boots - super grippy and warm (Cosmic Bull in Long Branch will hook you up) Entry into the AMP isn't too bad, I'm 5'9" 168 lbs (was 177 when I got the suit) and it fits good, have some room for poly underneath. I would go to a local shop to get it so you can try it on.
try on the new amp,my last year's is great but wavejammer had to send his batch back this year.flow is still great.new vapor gloves are warm.
I have an old AMP 6/5/4...It's toasty! I love it. It's holding up well. sure about the new one. My old one looks more like the new Flow does. I emailed Hyperflex to see if the FLOW is a rebranded older model AMP. They said no, but I think it is. I bought their boots and used them twice. Not good. Xcel mittons are awesome.
pkovo - Pretty sure you are right. The current flow is the same as the older amp Model (like 3 years ago older). I had an amp back then and thought it was great. When I wanted a new one I saw that the price had gone up but bought it anyway. Totally different suit and way better than the old amp/flow model. The flow is a good suit just doesn't have all the extras that the amp has. The skin on the current amp really sheds water which keeps you much dryer.
