Really? A short board?

    for me it depends on what the waves are doing and what beach is working best . Two days ago I was on the log on waist to chest waves. Today I was on my 5'10 retro twin on a beach 6 miles south of where I logged. I had equal fun on both days.

    I am all about tip time and glide but I like the go aswell

    Shortboards are the only way to go

    you get one 4" bigger than you with a little meat 2-1/2" and just as the wave gets to you turn around, give a little push with body and jump up, hardly any energy wasted paddleing
