Its a problem anywhere there is a college campus nearby. Typically people who come in from other areas want to learn to surf and head around to every where they see surfers. Majority being, people who don't know what they are doing. Yes its much worse in WB. No doubt. It probably isn't the kids who are associated with the surf team. Either way, its the east coast and we are in a close battle with the west coast. Why not support the local kids over a different school, even if some of the UNCW surfers don't know what they are doing.

These guys surf at Sun Skipper a lot. Always polite. A trip to watch and even give an old fart like me some waves.
Some of the best OBX surfers I know went to UNCW. One of them was my roommate for a while. Most of the annoying ones aren't in the water for more than 15 minutes at a time, and their sexy lady fiends are usually in tow (see round 1 video). I'll admit I'm clearly biased being one who surfed while working on my undergrad degree. And yes, you are both contrarian and cranky
UNCW wins!! I can honestly say that the surf team is the only UNCW squad that I give a fu*k about. 1 round to go. Hawaii or bust!
