My experience of Wilmington is thus: I was waiting tables at a golf course about 90 miles south of Belmar, and one of the guys there was from Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach and said the surf there was pretty awesome. I know that UNC is in the vicinity, and there is employment in my field in that area, so I've always kept that area on my radar despite never having been there. I'm watching this threade with some interest. I'm not going to make any life changing decisions from an internet forum, but I am curious how it all works out.
yea man i did my time on the force.... hard times being a hardboiled parking enforcement cop on the edge
Trev, your job and lifestyle sound pretty damn epic. I'm too old and way too lazy to do that **** now. Seriously, you're living the dream. Get some.
im trying man, im poor as **** but at least im on my toes and i have enough money to travel and surf relentlessly for 6 months, God willing
Trev what I understand from my drunk readings is you travel to fight forest fires... respect New Zealand will guarantee you a job if you qualify for citizenship and also offer a house and a decent piece of land near good surf for 165000 us$ , I'd post a link but that's work and I'm here for the entertainment If that's been posted already you can go **** yourself, the content of the threads first page didn't motivate to read anything else but that last page!
duuuude i just had my performance eval today any my supervisors were confused when i talked about wanting to fight fire internationally as my 5 year plan, but my safety officer last year on one of those Washington State fires was a kiwi and my batallion chief was from aussie and both said to hop on board. They said work visas can be waived super easy for emergency personnel. PM me a link if you got the goods and are kind hearted.
Hey if you survive that work ethic long enough you'll be an invaluable asset and also able to train the next generation to be better than the last.. Thanks in advance http://m.sfgate.com/news/article/New-Zealand-town-with-too-many-jobs-is-offering-8337340.php Don't let anyone put out the fire burning inside you

**** seems like a cool place to live! yea man its a simple plan: put the water on the fire to get money, and then take the money from the fire and put it into the water through surfing. Putting two diametrically opposite elements in symbiosis. Im just a elemental karmatic middle man in the form of a grunt getting ground into the dirt. Chilli Mac MRE menu item # 10 is the best for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of eating plastic bag meals.
My disrespect was more towards stank than you, It just wouldn't let me quote you both. I have a lot of respect for firefighters, what other sane person wants to run into a burning building? I have done it in extreme situations and would likely never do it on purpose again unless absolutely necessary. And there are lots of high quality stripper grams
If you're not trying to reside at the beach (CB, WB, etc...) I would live downtown, like around Front St. There's a bunch of cool restaurants, bars, music, etc....all in walking or biking distance. It would also be close enough to Carolina Beach where it wouldn't be a hassle getting there.
Is downtown front street reasonable during the day however? I will often need to sleep in the day so i need it to be relatively quiet.
Dude, that's every "big" city in America. We're down there all the time during the day and it's actually pretty quiet despite some random tourist walking around with a camera and the lunch crowd. I would much rather live there than WB any freaking day! There are some really cool older homes and apartments that's definitely worth checking out.
Thinking about an apartment off of front Street. Good amenities and pretty cheap for a one bedroom and bath.
