some are third world, many are middle class
some are extremist, many are not as Syria was/is a secular gvt

I have a friend here who is Syrian and she is as middle class as you can get, first generation here in states, all of her stories make it sound like a regular, albeit somewhat poor place to live

I'm not begrudging the religious/origin/race of these folks, I am really distraught at the refugee status

but if/when it does come to AC, I think it could be a little worse than you say, it wont all be peaches and headscarves

All of these people wont have jobs, Atlantic county unemployment is 10%, DOUBLE the average, these people will overload social safety nets and bankrupt the localities calling for federal intervention
