By no means am I complaining here; the forecast was showing 3' @ 7 seconds for Newport, and I went over with a few buddies around 6pm - 830 and there was consistent shoulder to head high sets rolling through. I was one of the farthest out at one point and had to duck dive under an overhead wave -I was pissed I couldn't get out to turn on - it looked to clean out a handful of folks behind me after it passed. Pretty fun session and a lot of surfers were out there, was anyone on here surfing second beach to confirm the decency of the waves? Also, with the sun setting what looked like a ww2 style plane made a few sick turns at what looked to be about 200' above the lineups which was bad ass.

Yup, I sat at green hill all day yesterday, got a bad sun burn, and there weren't any waves. Headed over to the lighthouse to watch the sunset and drink some beers with the girl, and it was going off. Oh well.

Yeah, I agree hinmo... I told my wife I was going to the beach just to do some paddle training for 1 hour because the forecast wasn't too good to be actually surfing. It turns out it was a blast at second beach, very crowded, but consistent shoulder to head high waves on every part of the beach. I saw the airplane too and it was pretty cool. I surfed for three and a half hours.

I was out there from around 2-430pm, got out cause I had to get back home and nothing was really happening. The tide was killing it, but I still managed to get a couple of good rides. My buddy got out of work at 5 and headed down there and I received so many texts from him 4 hours later saying how it was going off and how it was barreling at some points. Am I going to say that I am pissed that I made plans with my GF last night and regret hanging with her last night? UH yeah...

i tracked this swell closely... If you looked at the Swellinfo timeline for Rhode Island, you would see that the swell really moved in in the late day hours and into the late evening. The Swellinfo text forecasts considers the afternoon around midday. This is something we will have to work on improving with the text forecast. But, anyway, glad you scored!
