ricardo dos santos is gone!!!

such terrible news,he was the 1 Brazilian I really liked,and he never held back,charged to the fullest.so sad.he was only 24,that's like the little brother I never had.he was one of the heaviest newly chargers at pipe the past 5 years,on par with guys like jjf and Jamie ob.

and that's why I hate guns,and why people shouldn't use them.fists are all we need,sort out the problems like that.not starting a gun debate here,and being in brazil which is a no brainer for gun violence,this kid should still be alive charging right now

 

I didn't do a census just stating,maybe once every 10 yrsand u mentioned all the wrong surfers I was thinking of.

a few yrs later slaters friend Donnie soloman died going over the falls backwards at waimai.
a few yrs later todd cheese chesser died trying to paddle out to oversized backyards because waimai was full of kooks.
I don't know when jay and malik died,I wasn't too big on them,didn't really know who they were,other than jays wipeout.
noel robinson a lifelong Puerto surfer,died surfing Puerto like 7-8yrs ago.

dustin d ray(if u watched the old ...lost vids u know him) overdosed.

andy irons overdosed,and I remember that day well.he was making his comeback and was doing horrible on tour.weeks before he died people wouldn't even know of andy unless u grew up watching him and his brother.

and last sion milosky died at mavericks.that was a real sad one for me because he wasn't a pro,he was an everyday hard working joe like me who absoulutely charged(not like me)

rest in peace to the fallen comrads.

like I stated earlier,most surfers die doing what they love,surfing.to get murdered is a whole different dimension,ricardo did not deserve that!

although i was at waimea when chesser drowned and was horrified by the subsequent sobbing of
hundreds at waimea; the worst are andy and sion cause their kids lost their dad. i think its fair
to say that if you're a big wave guy do it before you make babies.

 

Addiction is an illness as real as any other. Don't be so quick to disrespect the dead. He was a F**KING WORLD CHAMPION of the highest caliber before he gave in to his inner demons.

 

Always makes me wanna go ballistic when people make spelling errors on the title of their post. I mean spelling errors in the thread are one thing, it's the title of your damn thread, and the name of a recently deceased. Sorry, my rant. I lost a friend to a shooting like that years ago, he was a great kid. Hate to see stories like this. People are just violent, always have been. I pray we as a species can evolve past violence altogether.
