So yesterday was an absolutely blast, hope a lot of you got out in the water and got some fun ones. Unfortunately this happened nearing the end of my day... It was almost dead low tide and I pulled into a death closeout barrel. One of the best tubes I've ever gotten (even though I didn't make it out) but my board paid the price. It was an honorable death for my magic stick that I've had for about 6-7 years. I'm somewhat happy this is how she was put to rest, there were two other broken boards at this spot yesterday. One dude backed up over his board in the parking lot... and the other was some longboarder who was just sitting in the wrong place at the wrong time and had a head high bomb detonate on his head while he sat lonesomely on his log in the lineup and saw the nose of his board go flying. I thined out my quiver last near and now I'm in need of a new all around board. I was thinking of getting a composite instead of a regular foam, just for the durability factor. What are your guys thoughts and does anyone here ride a Lib Tech? I was checking those out online earlier.
7 years old?!..that wave did you a favor. Looks like there was already some creases in delams in that thing. I just ordered a board from Hydroflex....they're a poly blank (not eps), but with an enhanced epoxy glass job. Much stronger.
it took me about 35 years of dedicated short-boarding before i figured out i needed to pay attention to durability issues. no; really pay attention.
