Hey guys, So, here I am, making plans to go out for the weekend and hopefully have some fun. As always, I come here to check the surf forecast, I go to NOAA to check the surf forecast and then I put on channel 61 to see the local weather. For the first time today, the forecaster mentioned the rip currents. I watch channel 61 every day, like a dork, and I've never heard them mention rip currents. NOAA has it's standard "moderate" rip risk, which is usual for onshore winds of 15-20 mph. Did someone drown in the area and I missed it? Just curious...the last time I got stuck in a rip was July 4. The lifeguards had just started filtering onto the beach and none of them noticed me floating in the toilet bowl way beyond the jetty. I managed to swim sideways out of it. Glad I can swim well and didn't panic or drown or anything crazy like that. Chris
