winds that day were stiff offshore making it super hard to paddle into waves. I surfed here and it was not an easy session those guys make it look way easier than the conditions were. very cool video!
Rob kelly is legit. He's the only positive that came from that whole ben gravy/nub nation thing. Guy completely rips. That one barrel from that big storm a year ago (or maybe two. Maybe Stella?) was insane
Was he surfing in the triple crown? Sunset maybe? I caught one heat and a "rob kelly" was in it... and he had long hair. Couldnt tell if it was this rob kelly though. Anyone know?

First remember Rob from many years ago. I was surfing by myself on a freezing cold crappy day and these two groms paddled out. These two proceeded to surf the crap out of these thigh high crumblers. Turned out it was Rob and his brother Chris. They were a fixture in the water in OC from then on. Chris has now moved to Hawaii. Rob is a cool humble guy. Had a most epic day of surfing a few years back in between Avon and Buxton with just Rob, Jessie Hielman, my son and me in the water. Solid hurricane surf and absolute perfection. A couple of shots from that very memorable day.
