Your timeline is pretty close. Apparently there is another super secret mod phorumme where they talk smack aboot the rest of us. It seems that there are more members of the mod phorumme than there are of the regular phorumme when you consider all the speculative aliases and such. It is currently unclear who moderates the mod phorumme and if there are perhaps more levels of mods beyond that.

USA farking kicked those Europeans asses! Played golf since I was 12 (41 now). Got to a 4 handicap by end of college, got married, had a kid and now shoot upper 70's low 80's.
Thanks Coop. Were I went to College (Campbell Univ) we had very little to do nearby but we did have Keith Hills Golf Club rated a Top 100 Semi Private course by Golf Digest. Students got to walk 18 for $4 so I played almost everyday. Also helped attending Pinehurst Golf School in my teens.
