damn people still filing claims.i got my check before my town even got the power baack on.fema did pretty good, but after hearing how much some of my neighbors got I should've got some mo.
I'm in the process. At the time I was just glad to get any money out of the flood insurance after two months of waiting. They pretty much screwed me but at the time I was glad to get something. Who knows what the outcome will be of the appeal. The water in my first level was 41" deep and I got a little over $30K. My neighbor down the street got 18" and got a brand new house out of the deal. Granted it took him two years to be back in. The biggest issue for me is that the foundation cracked in multiple places which was not addressed in my flood claim at all.
yea those cracks got to get fixed, that's serious shyt right there.I think the gov was giving out loans or something for people to raise their houses.a lot of people in my town got their house raised,it looks cool but pretty pointless if u ask me.if that water comes up that high and everyone is flooded and evacuated and ur just looking out ur porch like I hope this doesn't get any higher.that moving water can crack that elevated foundation just as easy as a regular foundation
My family and I are having this exact issue, please pm me or keep me in the loop how it goes and I will do likewise
thats why 90% of the beach houses and apartments are rasied up like 12ft on pillars. hell my grandmas house is and so is my apartment and dads. here in the south we use our brains and do it better. we know its not a matter of if but when.
