Just took a look and there's definitely swell filling in... Offshores all day tomorrow in NJ... Have fun everyone!!! Should be a real fun day
Looks like spring fever across the Northeast. Bit of a lull on Monday makes a proper rest day for a strong mid-week. Shred em if you got em.
was real fun this morning...wind is a bit on it now, but not so badly as to eliminate the possibility of a second session when the tide fill in a bit more. lots of seasonal kooks in the water, too...the "oh, it's not so cold anymore/oh it's april, time to start surfing again" types. but they were essentially just buoys; pretty easy to paddle around & get a good share of the waves.
Yeah... There was a dude out with his NSP longboard a 3/2 no booties or gloves... I thoght he was going to die of hypothermia
u talk about kooks, yet i see kooks all year long.just because u surf the winter because your a little rich kid that can afford a 600$suit,and go out there and be a buoy yourself.i just dont get all the hate.i wish there were more surfers i can surf with at my break, kook or not.i checked the ocnj cam and there was atleast 30guys in the water.**** rediculous!im lucky to see 1 guy out at my spot, and its going to stay like that.stop the kook on kook madness,i see no pics,no videos so i assume you are a kook too,as i am a kook that just returned from mexico.il take warm double overhead waves over arguein with little kooks about chest high windswell bytchin about kooks everywhere.grow the fuk up and get a job loser.i surf for fun and il have no problem sending kooks to your spot to drop in on u.its 420,smoke some pot and relax and stop hating on your own kind!
I can help you spread the kook love and stop all the hate...where's your "spot?" I have a number of friends that may be interested in learning and feeling the love from you!!! Definitely a lot of new friends in the water...still plenty to go around...get on it!
Nice pics, Mitchell. What did you ride today? We were 'down the road' from you, in the national park in the *** area @ **. What a blast. W wind kept everything groomed & clean, and sometimes it went glassy. Only 8 other guys out that I saw, and they were stretched out over 10 miles+ of gorgeous unspoiled beaches. So many good clean peelers over miles & miles of breaks. Set waves were terrific. And it stayed good from early this morning & was still good when I rolled out mid-afternoon. The place is a gemstone that we're so fortunate to have 4wd access to. Just one of those days when it's great to be alive & to be able to go surfing. Props to Micah for a great call today. Spot-on, Dr. Swellinfo, spot-on.
5'10" Chemistry Disk quad. Really wide. I broke down and bought one impulse style from Malibus last year after years of wanting one. It does pretty well in just about any kind of wave and paddles like a cadillac for a 5'10".
What a great day.....spent it at the NP getting dialed into my new board. Some long lulls between sets, but the sets were worth it and perfect for that. Saw some really nice long rides out there, and had a few too!
great waves all day here, low tide, high tide USA. best day of the year so far for this spot. since Sandy the sandbars here are like the good old days before 'beach replenishment' and perfect for the south windswell rights pumping. and no one's around still since the storm, they all love swarming bay head, but it sure is springtime on the forum! hey cepriano, we don't pay $600 for winter suits, but we surf every swell, because we have jobs and scrape by and buy the gear because we are surfers. hey 42, i recall you posting you used to come up to the pier, so on these south windswells you could come up and surf between north of lavallette/south of mantoloking. security restrictions could still be a problem elsewhere, unless you like bay head.our beachbreaks are pumping with no one around if you need to escape the oc buoys.
i may do just that next swell. i thought about heading up saturday since i had the whole day free, but i'm not too clear on the access issues up there. i'll hit you up next time i'm thinking of heading up that way. i'm in need of a break from the oc routine.
blowing a gale here today. water temp a balmy 51. just 10 more degrees. cold water makes my pooswah hurt.
