I'm going to Old Orchard on Saturday. I normally surf in the hampton beach area but it's going to be too big for me. I'm looking at the forecast and Old orchard is in the 4 to 7ft when all the breaks in maine and new hampshire will be a strong overhead surf. Is there any of you guys who knows if it's always half the size at old orchard or is it just normally the same as everywhere?
If you are looking for less size, I would stay out of the Hampton area in general, as hampton is slightly bigger most of the time. Cape ann and anything north of kennebunk are normally slightly smaller but this is no normal swell. This low pressure system is supposed to wrap all the way and fill into the northern bay between nova scotia and maine. This meaning that everything is going to me massive. Best bet would be to find a spot that is protected from the swell direction or just stay out of the water until monday.
